 Friction

is the resistance that one surface or object encounters when moving over another.

 

    Friction is the force that opposes motion between any surfaces that are in contact. There are four types of friction: static, sliding, rolling, and fluid friction.

    Static, sliding, and rolling friction occur between solid surfaces.

    Fluid friction occurs in fluids, which are liquids or gases.

 

Friction is the reason a space ship for example heats up when it reenters the atmospher. Not because the atmospher is hot in fact its really very cold.

Electric currents and the magnetic moments of elementary particles give rise to a magnetic field, which acts on other currents and magnetic moments.
