Measure
Measure
In science, a measurement is a collection of quantitative or numerical data that describes a property of an object or event. A measurement is made by comparing a quantity with a standard unit.
The seven SI base units, which are comprised of:
Length - meter (m)
Time - second (s)
Amount of substance - mole (Mole)
Electric current - ampere (A)
Temperature - kelvin (K)
Luminous intensity - candela (cd)
Mass - kilogram (kg)
In fact, there's a fundamental circularity in the way we measure time. The time that is measured by a clock is itself produced by that clock. The clock's time is independent of the flow of the seasons or the cycle of day and night, and is independent of the clock's location on earth.
